Sunday Coffee House is a one-hour radio program featuring music that can generally be described as “Contemporary Folk”. On this program, that encompasses the following genres and sub-genres: Acoustic, Singer-songwriter, Folk, Celtic, Roots, Americana/Canadiana, Blues, Bluegrass, Country-folk and others!

The program began in November 1993 as “Sunday Morning Coffee”, broadcast (oddly enough) Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 11:00am on CJLX-FM 92.3 in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. In late 1995 the show adopted its current one-hour format (10-11am). In 2000 the program began a repeat broadcast at 10pm Sundays, necessitating the dropping of the word "Morning" from the title, hence the name change to "Sunday Coffee House". In 2003, the program began airing on CKHA-FM 100.9 (aka Canoe-FM) in Haliburton, Ontario. In the fall of 2005, the originating station, CJLX, underwent a major power upgrade and frequency change. Now known as 91X (91.3FM), the improved signal greatly increased the potential audience for the show. Now, as of the fall of 2006,
91X-FM streams
its audio on the internet, enabling listeners worldwide to listen to Sunday Coffee House, as well as all other 91X programming.

Originally the music on the show was mostly by Canadian artists, due mainly to the fact much of the music in possession at that time happened to be from musicians from this country. Now-a-days, the show is typically about 50% Canadian with artists from the U.S. or abroad rounding out the show.
